Psychedelic/progressive rock jamband quartet from Burlington, Vt., RAQ, have announced they plan to perform for two nights in their hometown at Nectar’s on Oct. 14 and 15. Over the two evenings, which will be livestreamed, they’ll welcome New Hampshire’s Marble Eyes to assist in raising funds to help those affected by Hurricane Ian.
More specifically, the funds raised from the shows will benefit the Family of Sam Ankerson – a mainstay of the Burlington music community who was a member of the Strangefolk organization from 1994-2000, helped develop concerts on the green and ran the Shelburne Museum – who lost his home on Sanibel Island during the Hurricane; and The Collier Comes Together Disaster Relief Fund whose mission is to first provide immediate relief to those affected and the nonprofits that support the victims in the aftermath of a crisis, along with serving to assure donors’ support will reach its intended cause.
After immediate needs are met, such as food, water and shelter, the Collier Comes Together Disaster Relief Fund’s focus will turn to long-term needs, such as housing and transportation.
The livestreams to the show are free and can be enjoyed here. Tickets to the events are on sale now find tickets here.
