Iris Ceramica Group presented its latest products and collections at CERSAIE. Quality and aesthetic finishes, along with the versatility and potential of porcelain slabs, were featured in a range of designs at the stands of the holding company’s top brands: Ariostea, Eiffelgres, Fiandre Architectural Surfaces, FMG Fabbrica Marmi e Graniti, Iris Ceramica, Porcelaingres and Sapienstone.

On the occasion of CERSAIE, the international exhibition of Italian-made ceramics for architecture and bathroom furnishings which recently took place in Bologna, Iris Ceramica Group announced the establishment of its homonymous foundation and presented the group’s latest products and collections. Quality and aesthetic finishes, along with the versatility and potential of porcelain slabs, were featured in a range of designs at the stands of the holding company’s top brands (Ariostea, Eiffelgres, Fiandre Architectural Surfaces, FMG Fabbrica Marmi e Graniti, Iris Ceramica and Porcelaingres) designed by leading architectural firms. Iris Ceramica Group’s forte, its novel technologies including Active Clean Air & Antibacterial Ceramic™ and “DYS - Design Your Slabs” in addition to the Sapienstone brand, saw a widespread application across the group’s various stands.

Loto Pavillion, the title of the Ariostea stand designed by the Marco Porpora Architetti architecture firm, was evocative of a very specific shape: the lotus flower, chosen to highlight the technical and mechanical features of Ariostea’s maxi slabs, which can even be applied to curved surfaces. The large slabs from the Ultra collection that echo finishes such as marble (Capraia, Bianco Statuario and Dark Emperador), natural stone (Pietra Piasentina) and precious minerals (Crystal, Agata and Amazonite), are able to bend and flex like the petals of a lotus flower. The stand resembled a large flower with porcelain petals which opened up to reveal the central area. This space, dedicated to visitors, made use of mirror effects and greenery in the form of compositions and little vertical gardens. Elements that brought out the true depth of the new textures and highlighted porcelain’s versatility not just as a wall or floor tile, but also to create interior design elements such as seating, consoles and flower boxes.

Solid Drapery was the stand with an incredible visual and sensory impact designed by Studio Milo for Fiandre Architectural Surfaces, helping to make it the recipient of the ADI Booth Design Award 2019. Inside this precious treasure chest, the outside of which was tiled with the new Fjord Maximum maxi slabs, the brand’s newest collections were presented with the precious textures and intense colours of Amazonite, White Beauty and Grey Beauty Marmi Maximum, Rock Salt Maximum and Agata Maximum for the large slab format, Solida and Roc De Bourgogne for the traditional range. The concept of the stand was linked to a play of contrasts: porcelain, a tough and resistant material, became a “curtain”, a mouldable material, in the hands of the architects. The obvious reference was to the great flexibility of Fiandre’s porcelain slabs, which can be adapted to the applications, both decorative and practical, desired by architects and clients alike, all the way up to small porcelain accessories created by qualified artisans through various types of production.

INTERIOR LANDSCAPES / new spaces for people interaction was the title of the stand designed by Area 17 for Iris Ceramica, FMG Fabbrica Marmi e Graniti and Eiffelgres. A blank housing covered with the latest textures of the MaxFine slabs, highlighting the elegance of the material and then, approaching the inside, its application options, including for making storage furniture, furnishings and elements of design. The main façade of the stand opened with a large glass wall showcasing the opulence within, inviting visitors into this large hybrid space combining interaction and exhibition. The exhibition route was organised along the internal walls of the stand and displayed the two brands’ commercial offering. The interaction spaces, meanwhile, were at the heart of the stand, enclosed in the fluid and sinuous forms of the walls, echoed in the flooring by the inlaid ceramic rugs. As a whole, it was redolent of the design of an exclusive club with a private meeting room, created with the latest collections from Diesel Living with Iris Ceramica.

“Give your dreams the right size”, the dreamlike nature and mystery of the ordinary were the keywords of the Porcelaingres stand designed by architect Irene Cogliano in order to highlight the expressive power of the brand’s range by mixing and matching its collections, patterns and natural shades. The housing of the stand was a pure form made from Royal Stone 100x100 Black Diamond enclosing a “surreal” setup within. In the space, pure shapes and abstract compositions followed one another with echoes of Le Faux Miroir by Magritte, namely in the video projection of the circular window at the end of the central promenade. The promenade was made of large Royal Stone slabs and provided a separation between the technical area for consulting products and an outdoor rest area. As if in a camera, the route naturally attracted visitors and led them from the entrance down to the stage in the background, where the Great Metastone and Colour Studio collections were featured.
