Guatemala’s disaster relief agency said five people were killed after a hillside collapsed on a house in Alta Verapaz province. Salvadoran officials said five Salvadoran army soldiers were killed after a wall collapsed on a house in the town of Comasagua where they had taken refuge.

Two other people were killed in eastern El Salvador after a wall in their house collapsed due to heavy rains.
