Matt and Anna Bukhshtaber have lived in their custom-built home in Ladue for almost a year,

An 11-foot island topped in dolomite is the centerpiece of the chef's kitchen. The white custom cabinetry and range hood by Kenrose Kitchen Kabinets of Arthur, Ill., is complemented by a backsplash of uneven clay subway tile from Riad Tile. The hanging fixtures are by Visual Comfort from Wilson Lighting.

The living room, with furnishings from RH, includes detailed millwork and beautiful built-in cabinetry. Natural light fills the space from the wall of windows overlooking the pool. The "artwork" over the fireplace is actually a Samsung TV.

One of Anna's must-haves was the large stainless steel range by ILVE, an Italian appliance-maker. The kitchen includes an adjoining breakfast room with a sliding glass door leading to the outdoor living area.

One of the family's favorite spaces is the three-seasons outdoor room with living and dining areas, retractable screen walls, fans and heaters. They used tongue-and-groove wood siding on the ceiling for a rustic feel. The floor is stamped concrete.

Anna went for a feeling of calm in the primary bedroom with dove gray walls a soft-hued rug and crisp white bedding. The room has a private door leading to the pool area and a vaulted, 12-foot ceiling.

The pool includes a large tanning shelf and oversized spa. The wooded lot offers total privacy in the summer months.

California Closets designed the large dressing room/closet off the primary bathroom with a place for everything. The space feels like a cozy boutique.

The Bukhshtabers moved in to the completed 5,500-square-foot home on New Year's Eve 2021. The design, Anna says, was inspired by French modern style with loads of custom details and millwork.
