The owner of 20 years said he had not been planning on moving but his wife and children fell in love with another abode that has a pool.
He said the Ascot Vale home was in good condition when he purchased it but that he has done minor modifications, updated the bathrooms and painted the interior across the years.

“It (the property) could fit over 100 people quite easily,” the owner said.
The family’s pet cat and dog, a pug, have also appreciated the size of the block.
“When we moved here from an apartment, the pug was running around in figure of eights,” the owner said.

Barry Plant Essendon agent Walter Mahch said the home had attracted interest from families, many of them local.
“I think the best feature of the house is the 3.8m ceiling in the hallway and the original fireplaces,” Mr Mahch said.
“It’s in the Rothwell Hill estate, which is probably the best part of Ascot Vale, just off Union Rd, with all of its shops and cafes.”
